The exhibition investigates the relationship between the pictorial image and performativity in the work of Andrea Cusumano, a multifaceted artist from Palermo with international training and experience.
The exhibition focuses in particular on two recent performative works: TRAGÖDIA-ATTO IV (Teatro Garibaldi, Palermo, 2023) and 6 HOURS, 2 SCORES, 12 ROOMS (nitsch museum, Mistelbach, 2024). During both performances, the artist produced two large canvases, which were the result of gestures and the same performative dramaturgy, as well as various artistic objects and artifacts. These works were then further reworked and set up for the rooms of the Loggiato di San Bartolomeo.
